    Post: Occupational Therapist (Band 5 equivalent); temporary (6 month with view to extend)

    Base: St Teilo House

    Responsible for: Caseload of 10-12 patients

    Responsible to: Head Occupational Therapist

    Hours: 40 hours (Mon-Fri 9-5pm)

    St Teilo House is a well-established service located in the village of Rhymney, amid the beautiful Welsh countryside.  St Teilo House is a 23-bed service specialising in high dependency in-patient rehabilitation for women in a safe and comfortable environment.  St Teilo House has been designed to provide an environment which promotes recovery for women with its focus on space, personal privacy and dignity. 

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

    In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

    Prioritisation skills are key to manage the caseload of clients effectively and you will work closely with the Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary team onsite.

    The Successful Candidate should be/have:

    • This role is suitable for a newly qualified occupational therapist
    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or registering imminently
    • Experienced in the field of adult mental health or PICU environments
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation

    Requirements
    The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
