    Hours:

    16 hours per week, Full flexibility is required as it is not set days. You will be working either 4 hours or 8 hours a day. 


    In this role you will; 

    • Assist the cook in planning/costing menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of fresh foods, as available.
    • Help prepare and cook meals.
    • Provide special diets where necessary as well as taking into account the preferences of individual residents.
    • Be responsible for the washing up after meals and the overall cleaning of the kitchen and where appropriate the dining area.
    • Assist the cook in ordering stocks and checking deliveries.
    • Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
     

    We are looking for people who have; 

    • Good communication.
    • Team player / Works on own initiative.
    • Experience of working in a care/ Hospital environment
    • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
    • Hospitality experience.

  • Cygnet Cedars is a 24-bed high dependency complex care service for men with learning disabilities and other complex needs. The hospital has a further two bed step-down service, allowing for further community integration and focus on daily living skills.

    All bedrooms are en-suite and furnished to a high standard and the people in our care are encouraged to personalise their bedroom to their own taste. Our communal living spaces are fresh, spacious and encourage social interaction. In addition, our staff to individual ratio is an important element of our service. A number of clinical studies have demonstrated the positive impact that high staff ratios have on individual development and standard of care.

     

    This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
