  • Cygnet Cedar Vale provides assessment and intervention for men living with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. The team can support people who are detained under the Mental Health Act, as well as those who have behaviours perceived as challenging, or who have significant difficulties with social engagement.

    Shift Pattern-

    (This role requires you to work a mixture of days and nights)

    Week one - Mon, Tues, Sat, Sunday

    Week Two – Wed, Thurs, Friday

    7.45am – 8pm Days

    7.45pm – 8am – Nights

     



    In this role your main focus would be to provide safe, sound and supportive care to the people you support. You will have working relationships with the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams, and will play an important role in the lives of the people you support, as well as their families or loved ones. As a key member of the support team, you may be required to contribute to service user multi-disciplinary meetings.

    The support and care you provide will be respectful, dignified and caring, following each individual's person-centred care plan to promote choice and independence.

    So what qualifications and attributes do you need?

    • You would need to be compassionate, understanding and trustworthy
    • Health and Social Care QCF or SVQ would be beneficial
    • Previous experience would be beneficial, but not essential

  • Situated in East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, Cedar Vale is a specialist autism hospital, providing assessment and intervention for up to 14 men living with autism and learning disabilities, as well as associated complex needs or difficulties with social engagement. Cedar Vale is an impressive period property, situated on the edge of a picturesque village in its own extensive grounds.

    The service consists of three distinct areas to support individuals with different levels of need. Each of these areas are aimed at providing the individuals with an environment that will support them for moving on to more independent living. Within the service there are a number of communal lounges and dining areas that provide a choice of dining experiences, as well as more opportunities for service users to socialise or have quiet time away from others. Other facilities include a recently expanded and upgraded sensory room, a large garden and skills rooms.
