    The role of the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) is to help to compliment the Occupational Therapy team by ensuring continuity of the interventions provided by the qualified Occupational Therapists. We are currently looking for 2 OTA's who will in their work become a member of the multidisciplinary team and will provide flexible and constructive programmes of activity approved by the professional staff. The individual will have specific responsibilities both clinically and administratively, where they are expected to work with minimal supervision. They will contribute to the provision of a high quality care for patients and will uphold the positive image of Cygnet Healthcare

     

    Main duties and responsibilities

    • Develop and deliver an activities programme in collaboration with the Ward Occupational Therapist.
    • To identify resources that can be utilised by the client group and facilitate links to same.
    • Liaise with other OTA’s as appropriate and in monthly meetings.
    • To provide a safe and therapeutic space for patients.
    • To co-facilitate and work in a therapeutic setting with other therapists and be a part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • To review and evaluate the therapy programme with the Occupational Therapists where necessary.
    • To identify own learning needs within the occupational therapy process.
    • To continue to develop competencies through training and course work to ensure best practice.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and assist in maintaining confidential records.
    • To ensure compliance with Cygnet Health Care and statutory Health and Safety procedures and to report any possible Health and Safety hazards to the Operations Manager/Hospital Manager.
    • To be flexible and promote good, close working relationships with colleagues.
